STACK’D

Lorem ipsum dolor sit

BASIS

Stack’d is a branding and restaurant concept centered around a modern, globally inspired burger joint. The idea began as an exploration of how a familiar food category could be transformed into something unexpected. Rather than following the typical burger-restaurant aesthetic, I wanted to create a brand that felt fresh, vibrant, and completely different from what people normally associate with burgers. This project became an opportunity to experiment with theme, storytelling, and visual identity in a way that challenged my usual design preferences.

VISION

My vision for Stack’d was to build a brand that blended tropical energy with bold, modern design. I wanted the restaurant to feel fun, warm, and full of personality almost like a beach experience translated into a burger joint. The name Stack’d reflects the idea of layered flavours and stacked ingredients, while the overall aesthetic reimagines burgers through a colourful, travel-inspired lens. The brand needed to strike a balance between playful and polished, giving customers something both familiar and refreshingly new

PROCESS

Designing Stack’d required approaching the burger concept from a completely new angle. I envisioned it as a tropical burger joint, taking something universally familiar and giving it a bold, unexpected twist. While the brand may appear straightforward at first glance, it incorporates subtle beach and tropical elements that reveal it's personality upon closer look from colour choices to menu themes. The menu itself became a major part of this storytelling. Aside from one American-style burger, The Hollywood, every other burger was inspired by destinations such as Kingston, Maui, Hawaii, Madrid, and Bermuda. Each name contributed to the global, island-influenced identity I wanted to express.

This project pushed me creatively because it wasn’t something I typically gravitate toward. My comfort zone leans more toward coffee shops and pastry brands, but I wanted to challenge myself. Creating the logo was especially difficult I aimed for a playful, boxy style while incorporating a burger icon without making the design look cluttered. Developing the menu was another challenge, as I experimented with ingredients and flavour combinations that felt unique yet believable within a tropical concept. Through multiple iterations of the visuals, colours, and layout, the identity gradually came together into a cohesive system that felt lively and distinct.

OUTCOME

The final Stack’d brand is bold, vibrant, and visually memorable. It successfully transforms a classic burger concept into a modern tropical restaurant experience. The playful logo, globally inspired menu, and bright colour palette work together to create a brand that feels energetic and refreshing. Although the project challenged me in several ways especially in logo development and menu creation the result is a cohesive, expressive identity that stands out from typical burger branding.

Stack’d feels adventurous, welcoming, and full of flavour both visually and conceptually.

TAKEAWAYS

This project taught me the value of stepping outside my comfort zone and approaching familiar ideas from a new perspective. I learned how to build a brand around a strong conceptual theme and how to use design elements to support storytelling on every level. Stack’d helped strengthen my skills in restaurant branding, menu development, and playful visual identity. Most importantly, it showed me how rewarding it can be to explore styles and themes that are different from my usual work often leading to some of the most creative outcomes.
